Reflection Book Trailer: Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover
After reading the book “Heart Bones” by Colleen Hoover for some reason I felt at ease. When I first started the book, I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to enjoy it because usually I read books based on recommendations but this one was one I found on my own. I chose to do a book trailer on this specific book because this book has created a sense of realism especially since becoming a teacher this year. This book has created the scenarios of drug addiction abuse and the impact it has on children and young adults in which two teenagers look at the brighter side of finding love. No matter how many hardships and encounters someone can go through at home it doesn’t define who that person is and Beyah did her best to establish that.
One message I can relay to readers who have not read this book is don’t take life for granted and appreciate the love and establishment you have in your home. Sometimes we are unappreciated of our parents and the sacrifices they go through for you to live a great life. This book was eye opening for me in the sake of having the parents I have and I am so lucky I was fortunate enough to have a great childhood.
This book will definitely be in my Classroom Library for young adults because there are many life lessons that follow such as themes of self-reflection, love and self determination. I’m sure if my students were given the opportunity to read this book today then they would not want to put it down.
